MAN KILLS GIRL OVER REFUSAL TO MARRY HIM AFTER YEARS OF TRAINING HER THROUGH SCHOOL

It was horror and disbelieve as reports flew in of a man in his late 30s who tragically ended the life of his supposed girlfriend, following her alleged refusal to his marriage proposal. One would have wondered why the man (name withheld) took laws into his hands and murdered his girl just because she turned down his request to marry her. However, it was gathered that the girl who just graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri and passed out from the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps scheme was sponsored through school by this unfortunate young man.
According to local gossip, the man saw her through school with the hope that he would eventually marry her not knowing that the deceased never had him in mind. One could only imagine the disappointment and heartbreak which followed the failed marriage proposal. But let me ask, “is this enough reason for sauch a man to take another person’s life”?
I would need answers and opinions to this issue because similar incidents are still happening all around us. There are largely unreported cases of men who sponsor or spend heavily on their supposed ladies with hopes of getting old together only for their dreams to be cut short just at the brink of fulfilling such dreams.

I feel that such ugly incidents happen because many women and men alike have not learnt to properly handle relationships and love affairs. If ladies would learn to say NO and stick to it, or if men would learn to be more selfless without having strings attached, many more relationships would end well, men and women in relationships would become happier and love lives would become more meaningful.
What about women who deliberately allow men to spend money on them, believing that they are smart while the men are foolishly blinded by misguided love? To such women, we need to advise better. Maybe the woman who was killed in this real life story felt the same way and never bothered to truly define her relationship with the killer young man before the sad incident occurred. I think this is a big problem in our society today. If you are woman reading this post, check yourself deeply. It is almost certain that there is a young man in your life whom you carelessly allow to spend cash on you making him believe that you are truly his. If you are a man reading this post, I do not advice that you restrain from being caring and selfless. If you come across any opportunity to be nice to ladies, do not hesitate to do so. But most importantly in doing so, do not expect any gratitude in return, no matter what manner of woman is involved. Not even when you are called a woman wrapper should you be discouraged from being the “Mr. Nice guy”.
I am being objective on this issue as neither men nor women are innocent enough to be defended. However, I would love to read your opinion on this issue. More so, do not fail to share this on Facebook, twitter and other social media to engage your friends on this matter as it also certainly affects them.
