MEN WHO PUNISH THEIR GIRLFRIENDS, FIANCEES, WIVES; HOW RIGHT ARE THEY?

We may have heard of men who use excessive authority and intimidation over their wives or girlfriends, although the Woman Wrapper condemns it in strongest terms. We may have heard or seen husband or boyfriends who authoritatively control or monitor every move their wives or girlfriends make...but quite bizarre is the thought about men or boyfriends who lock up, keep hostage or restrict their partner's freedom of movement, seize their partner's cell phones because they were not comfortable with one or two particular calls received, kneel their girlfriends or wives down to flog them or render some kind of punishment or outrightly beat up their girlfriends or wives.

Dear reader, is this not arrant nonsense? But let me ask, what is your opinion on this kind of development? Do you think the men are right on this or otherwise.

This is no fairy tale. In one of the cases reported to the Woman Wrapper, we saw a boyfriend who practically locked up her girlfriend for two weeks. Both of them were students of a federal polytechnic in Nigeria and were practicing co-habitation. For two weeks, he would beat and molest her at will, tie a rope round her neck and threaten to strangulate her.

However the next couple of hours, both of them would be seen dressed up for a social romantic outing. The girl insisted on him despite the beatings and other forms of ill-treatment received from her boyfriend.

What non-sense love would make a woman insist on dating a man who treats her like an animal - always beating her blue-black?
