Although s*x for money is not a new business anywhere round the world, the disturbing trend is the fact that virtually over 70% of girls in Nigeria’s higher institutions have turned digital prostitutes. The use of the social media to engage prospective clients have now replaced the old format where girls would stand by the roadside to been and approached by willing customers.

Some social media apps that are location-targeted are easy tools in the hands of these digital  student prostitutes. These social media mobile applications present you with nearby, opposite sex users of the app. Some mobile apps such as IN*essage, Bad** are some to mention but a few. The menace is real. These s*x workers who are supposed to be in their classrooms are daring, willing to do anything with you as long as you can pay.

What is going on in our universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other higher institutions? The sad thing is that more girl students are joining by the day. Who will save them?
